A technology question
A grounded route from a promising procurement technology idea to a question a practitioner can actually test.
Describe the friction
Identify a repeated task, the information it uses and the consequence of getting it wrong. Avoid starting with a preferred tool. A clear account of the present workflow helps the community distinguish a data problem from a process or ownership problem.
Bound the experiment
Choose a limited set of records, a responsible reviewer and a period of observation. Define what would count as useful and what would make the approach unsuitable. Keep a comparison with the existing process so the result remains interpretable.
Share the learning
Report the conditions, constraints and open questions rather than a sweeping claim of transformation. Other members can then decide whether the approach applies to their own environment. Practical detail makes technology discussion worth returning to.
